What Risk is Your Premises?

Your Fire Risk Assessment should be reviewed regularly by a competent person. A timescale for regular reviews may be recommended by a competent fire risk assessor.

A high risk premises could have a fire risk assessment review done 6 monthly/annually, depending on the fire risks identified from the initial fire risk assessment.

A medium risk premises could have a fire risk assessment review done every 2 years, depending on the fire risks
identified from the initial fire risk assessment.

A low risk premises could have a fire risk assessment review done every 3 years, depending on the fire risks identified from the initial fire risk assessment.

If you are unsure what type of fire risk your premises might be then there are some guidelines below describing different types of premises and what their potential risks are. However, a full fire risk assessment will need to be carried out before we can accurately recommend what type of risk your premises is.

Fire Risk Assessments

Realm Fire & Security provide Fire Risk Assessments, in Aberdeen and Aberdeenshire, as per National legislation and with competent fire risk assessors. Any person who has control to any extent of a premises, usually the employer or landlord, have a duty to carry out a Fire Risk Assessment of any relevant premises.

HIGH RISK

  • Hotel
  • Hospital
  • Care Home
  • House of Multiple Occupation (HMO)
  • Nightclub
  • Building containing Large Quantity of High Flammables or Chemicals

MEDIUM RISK

  • Factory
  • Warehouse
  • Office
  • Shop
  • Public House
  • Restaurant

LOW RISK

  • Storage premises
  • Premises where there is minimal ignition sources and low fire loading.
